Overview
Flashcards is a privacy-first flashcard app. We collect only the information
necessary to provide and improve the service. We do not sell or rent your data
to third parties.
What we collect
- Account information — Username, email, and password hash when you register. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google email and profile name.
- Deck data — Flashcard decks you create or import, including words, translations, and sentences. This stays private to your account.
- Study progress — Which cards you've reviewed, their mastery stage, and schedule. Used to drive the spaced repetition algorithm.
- Local storage — In guest mode, progress is stored in your browser's localStorage. This data is not synced across devices.
What we don't collect
- No tracking — No analytics, no cookies for tracking, no advertising pixels.
- No third-party scripts — Only Pico.css from a CDN and the app's own JavaScript.
- No data selling — Your flashcards and progress are never sold or shared.
- No AI training — Your data is not used to train artificial intelligence models.
Your rights
- Export — You can export any of your decks as JSON at any time.
- Delete — You can delete any deck or your entire account from the Profile page.
- Opt-out — You can use the app entirely in guest mode without providing any personal information.
